Exploring the forest is extra-special when the destination is a waterfall. The quiet stream comes alive with movement and reveals the woodland life dependent upon it. As I worked on this little cut paper scene, my initial focus was creating the sense of movement in the falling water. But, as with all time spent in nature, hidden creatures revealed themselves: chestnut-sided warbler, an ermine and fish. The piece is made entirely of assorted papers. 11 x 8.5" matted to 20 x 16" shadowbox.
