This recent work focuses on the translucency and iridescence of vellum paper. Taking embossment and texturing well, I play up the unique way this crisp paper forms and shapes while allowing other papers to be seen through it.
Embossed rock paper forms the black structure of the fish. Shimmering iridescent vellum creates sparkling stripes and fins. The background is knife-cut from layers of archival papers in a teal/brown/gray palette. Natural wood shadowbox frame under plexiglass for easy shipping.
