Our neighborhood crows are my alarm clock every day. I have a lot of respect for these intelligent birds. I have used crows in a lot of art pieces, from cut paper to oils to video. Charcoal is perfect for this crow's sooty blackness with a metallic streak of sunlight. The art is presented on a gesso panel mounted to 3/4” New Zealand pine. The image area is highly textured and details are scratched into the dry and liquid charcoal. After a splash of metallic bronze acrylic, the art is sealed with an archival fixative for a dramatic, frameless presentation. Ready to hang as is, or framed as desired.
