The Little Story
These tropical-looking birds raise their families in my wooded back yard. I’m required to supply them with bags and bags of sunflower seed throughout the summer. My reward is dozens of rose-breasted grosbeaks adorning my garden with their flashy markings and good-natured ways. They arrive from Central and South America ready for breakfast and tame enough to allow me to walk right up to them. Almost like little pet parrots.
